This was one of my first paintings and I named it “Blooms in the Night” because it occurred to me that so often, we let the periods of night in our lives hide the beauty around us. This painting reminds me of times when all seemed lost in darkness, but when I looked hard enough, I saw a hint of beauty. A touch of grace. A glimmer of what waits for me when the darkness lifts. The air seemed less oppressive, and the darkness less blinding. I found some relief when I recognized the carefree beauty and blessing of “Blooms in the Night.”
