This is one of my favorites. I must have been having a good week when I painted it. In fact, I like it so much I used it on my home page. The bird, the flowers, the whimsy of it makes me smile. I imagine this bird watching her children take flight. It is a bittersweet moment that any mom of young adults will understand. She has given them wings to fly and has joy in knowing those wings will take them far but also bring them home occasionally. Her work is finished, and she is expectantly “Letting Go.”
